How to Use Facility


To use any facility mentioned in this portal one has to register himself online. For registration, one has to fill and submit registration form. Research Scholars/Students/Project Staff need to submit recommendation from their guide, PI and HOD with their application after online registration.After registration, an application format with application reference number will be generated. Please take a printout of this application form, fill it and get signed with appropriate forwarding authority from your College/University/ Organisation and send it to

Please write your application reference number on the envelope. Once your request for analysis is permitted by the Director WIHG, You will be asked for sending samples to appropriate lab.Once your sample arrive physically in the Lab, respective OIC/Co-OIC will register your sample for analysis. A Unique sample number will be generated for your samples. You can check the status of your samples through this sample registration number.

Please go through appropriate lab section in this portal for necessary care in sending samples. You may get in touch with concerned OIC of LAB. You can estimate total charges using Estimation of Charges. Please note that GST with a rate of 18% is effective from July,1st 2017. Users are requested to estimate charges before sending samples to WIHG analytical facility.

As soon as requested analysis is completed, users will be asked for the payment. After the payment is received, Reports of analysis will be uploaded to user account.You can pay charges by sending Demand Draft in favour of Director WIHG, payable at Dehradun or by online transfer. User Category: There are five categories of users

  • Internal Users (Category1)

    This category includes Institute Scientists working for Institute projects, Institute students, Persons who are affiliated to Institute through any type of career advancement schemes for example, women scientists project schemes, Institute Research Associates, Wadia Fellows, CSIR Fellows, DST Inspire Fellows or Faculties, National Post-Doctoral Fellows (NPDF), etc. Research Scholars/Students/Project Staff need to submit recommendation from their guide/P.I. and HOD with their application after online registration.

  • Internal Sponsored (Category2)

    This category is for Institute users, including Scientists, JRFs and SRFs, who require analysis for externally (other than WIHG) sponsored projects. Project Staff (JRF/SRF/Scientist) will also come into this category. Research Scholars/Students/Project Staff need to submit recommendation from their guide, PIand HOD with their application after online registration.

  • Govt. Institutions and Universities (Category3)

    This category is for users from a National laboratory, Govt. Organisation or a University. Research Scholars/Students/Project Staff need to submit recommendation from their guide, PIand HOD with their application after online registration.

  • Personal/Industry/Commercial/Others (Category4)

    Any Individual, user from any Industry, commercial organisations or an organisation not defined in any of the above categories will come in this category.

  • Foreign Users (Category5)

    This category is for users from outside India. The charges for this category may be the same as defined for Industry category.

The time frame of each facility is divided between Internal and other users as per institute policy. In absence of other users, the time slot is given to Internal User.

Rates

Rates are classified as per type of user and is available on charges.

Presence of User

If a user (e.g., a student) wishes to be present during the analysis, he/she may contact and request the OIC of concerned lab. There will not be any logistic support for such users from respective Labs.

Sample Retention Policy

Samples will be retained for three months from the date of dispatch of report. During this period, if any valid arguments arise over analysis, analysis may be repeated for the user only on the retained sample and that no fresh sample will be considered for re-analysis and no consideration of re-analysis after three months period.

Please note that the results are for academic purposes only and you need to acknowledge the WIHG facility in your research communications. Please also note that:-

  • Online registration for sample analysis is mandatory irrespective of internal/external user from January 1,2017.
  • Samples will be analyzed after sample registration.
  • Please mention application reference number and sample registration number in all correspondence.
  • Unstable and explosive compounds are not accepted for analysis
  • If you require multiple analysis, please send separate samples for each analysis
  • Research fellows, Students and Project Staffs are advised to send their application and samples through their Supervisor or PI and Head of department.
